Terracotta, or terra-cotta (from the Latin terra cocta) also referred to as Quarry Tile, is a clay-based unglazed or glazed ceramic, where the fired body is porous. As such, when used in flooring or wall tiling, Terracotta tiles need sealing to prevent them from absorbing moisture.
